Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96 - websitePurpose Statement The Instructional Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning.
The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based effective instruction.
In order to meet this purpose, the Instructional Coach will provide support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers.
This job reports to the principal.
Essential Functions oAnalyzes student, class, grade level, and district targets/goals data and reports data for the purpose of collaborating with teachers to make informed decisions relative to instructional practices.
oAssesses skills and needs (both initially and ongoing) of teachers and students for the purpose of determining the kinds of professional development and strategies needed to bring about teacher capacity and improved student learning.
oCollaborates with teachers to prepare lesson plans adhering to district pacing guides and curriculum for the purpose of differentiating instruction and adhering to pacing guides and district curriculum.
oDemonstrates exemplary classroom practice and possesses a deep understanding of instructional theory within content area for the purpose of modeling best practices and improving student achievement levels.
oDevelops and maintains a confidential, collegial relationship with district staff members for the purpose of cultivating a community of collaborative problem solving.
oInstructs students (in the general classroom or in small groups) for the purpose of improving achievement levels.
oLeads and participates in on-going and job-embedded professional development (e.
g.
staff meetings; study groups, demonstration lessons with pre- and post-discussion analysis; workshops; trainings; and seminars) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information related to district instructional targets and goals.
oMaintains a variety of records (e.
g.
student records, other data regarding subject matter proficiency etc.
) for the purpose of determining success of coaching on student achievement and evaluating effectiveness of the overall instructional program.
oMentors, coaches, and reflects with classroom teachers for the purpose of improving instruction and promoting a school-based professional learning community.
oPrepares or gathers and shares a variety of resources (e.
g.
lesson plans, pacing guides, classroom materials, reports, etc.
) for the purpose of demonstrating best practices in instruction, documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
oPerforms other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school and district.
M Must hold certification and highly qualified status in general science.
