Are you in?PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThis position is a direct report to the Manager - T&S.
Continually assesses the effectiveness of the T & S organization.
Supervises management personnel including performance reviews, coaching, and performance management.
Identifies performance gaps and develops appropriate programs to achieve 'best in class' status.
Manager of T&S OHT - North and West Region.
Develops, monitors, analyzes and audits the department's budgets, recommends work priorities and ensuring that the work plan is executed in support of department goals and objectives.
Provides field technical support in the area of electric substation relay (testing) and/or mechanical systems.
Administers the Collective Bargaining Agreement consistent with T&S and ComEd labor strategy.
Develops and maintains an environment that promotes employee safety, diversity and high productivity.
Departmental activities include the construction, maintenance, overhaul, repair, commissioning, and emergent response of high voltage substation transformers, circuit breakers, distribution network hi-rise equipment and protective relay system.
Develops and maintains business continuity plans and emergency response organizational staffing.
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES KPI Performance Management - Identifies performance gaps resulting from Root Cause Investigations and Utility Best Practices.
Develops appropriate performance improvement plans and monitors execution to assure the highest levels of customer service and to achieve Exelon's safety, reliability and performance goals.
(10%) Financial - Oversees the development, monitors and analyzes the Departmental budgets and work plans.
Provides guidance in work activities directed at achievement of business plans and objectives.
Manages and adjusts departmental spending to achieve capital and maintenance targets.
(15%) Technical - Provides field technical support in the area of electric substation relay (testing) and/or mechanical systems to develop solutions for corrective and preventive maintenance, equipment replacement and new construction activities.
Investigates, analyzes, and reports on system operation events and develops corrective measures in coordination with T&S engineering.
(30%) Work Management Alignment - Performs work prioritization, process adherence and resource allocation functions.
Assists with the prioritization of corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and projects for electric substation relay (testing) and/or mechanical disciplines.
Executes work in accordance with EED Work Management policies, programs and processes.
(15%) Labor Relations - Guides work activities within the framework of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and resolves contractual concerns.
Facilitates grievance resolution with local union representatives.
Develops and maintains an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization.
Coordinates training and development activities.
(10%) Manager - Manages direct reports typically First Line Supervisors.
Conducts goal setting and performance reviews.
Develops, mentors, and performance manages direct reports (20%) JOB SCOPE Reports to the Manager - T&S Substations and is responsible for the continuous assessment of the Regional T&S organization in the areas of productivity, resource utilization, adherence to standards and work practices, implementation of root cause investigation corrective actions, and performance indicator analysis.
Maintains effective internal business controls by conducting audits, self-assessments, and investigations.
Takes action and makes decisions with minimal guidance.
Enforces performance goals and expectations, coaches, mentors and provides feedback to direct reports.
Responsible for the environmental stewardship of substations facilities in an effort to minimize the impact on the surrounding community and natural resources.
Develops, implements, and monitors consistency of labor strategies involving employees covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Negotiates grievance hearings.
Has responsibility to develop the budget recommendations and once approved monitor and adjust the local budget based on spending shifts and work plan adjustments.
Monitors and performs gap analysis on the planning, implementation and execution of maintenance and reliability programs.
Monitors and reviews performance to schedule on capital projects.
Responsible for the substation maintenance associated with Exelon Nuclear Power Plants and emergency & planned outage support of electrical equipment internal to the plant.
Actions have direct impact on reliability and customer satisfaction goals, the transmission revenue stream, the generation revenue stream of Exelon, and the public, political, and regulatory opinion of Exelon.
Responsible for the organization's response to emergent activities, catastrophic events and storms.
Responsible for periodic departmental call duty and assuming the responsibilities of the Manager.
Builds strategic alignment with ComEd management through regular contact with T&S team, TSO/OCC shift managers, local union representatives, employees of ComEd and of other Exelon business units (Exelon Nuclear, Transmission Operations C&PM, Engineering, and ESO).
Other contacts include co-generation customers, substation and transmission equipment vendors and various municipal organizations (fire, police etc).

$0 Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education - Bachelor's degree AND 7-10 years industry experience, or in lieu of bachelor's degree, 9-12 years relevant experience Experience o 7-10 years of industry experience in various engineering, construction or operating assignments.
o 3-5 years of supervisory/managerial experience and knowledge of operating and construction work practices Certifications/Licenses o Valid driver's license o Successful completion of Supervisory Assessment.
Knowledge - Understanding of regulatory issues, T&D operating, maintenance & construction work practices, and utility collective bargaining agreements.
Skills o Ability to lead in a high-performance culture, including coaching and facilitating o Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build consensus, establish trust, and foster culture change.
o Demonstrated ability to support and enforce safe work behaviors; this requires working knowledge of safety rules and work practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience - Electric industry background in the construction, maintenance and troubleshooting of transmission & substation equipment and systems.
Certifications/Licenses - Ability to pass necessary Nuclear badging criteria Knowledge o In-depth technical understanding of transmission and substation components and system protection devices and schemes.
o Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements with local unions.
Skills o Troubleshooting of substation equipment and/or system protection operations o Demonstrated business and utility financial acumen, customer awareness, and ability to create value.
o Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance.
Recommended Skills Auditing Business Administration Collective Bargaining Commercial Awareness Communication Culture Change Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
