Regional Human Resources Manager

We have an immediate opening for a Regional Human Resources Manager - Midwest position based in our Libertyville, IL facility. This high energy, organized person will partner with senior management and implement quality human resources processes, systems, products, and services to field-based managers and employees. The primary focus of this critical position is on (1) sourcing and selecting warehouse employees and front line managers, (2) employee relations, (3) training and employee development; and (4) safety and workers' compensation administration. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a strong focus in Human Resources management and a desire to work for a fast-paced, large corporate organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a "roll-up your sleeves" attitude.
The challenging responsibilities of the position include:
Act as the primary lead in employment related activities. Develop action plans to respond to staffing issues; assure recruitment and selection of candidates that meet technical, professional and interpersonal requirements; analyzes projected and current staffing needs; recruit, interview, test, and select candidates to fill vacant positions in a timely and effective manner. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the recruiting function and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Act as the primary contact for local employee relations issues. Coach both employees and managers on correct interpretation and administration of Company policy. Assist management in maintaining positive employee relations by assessing the internal employee climate. Counsel with managers to identify and implement actions that improve or maintain a positive employee relations environment. Identifies internal and external factors that may affect employee retention; addresses these issues by working in concert with managers/supervisors to develop proactive strategies to meet or exceed turnover goals. Involved with facets in regards to employee relations; i.e. investigations, corrective action, etc. Accountable for ensuring that corrective action is administered correctly per Company standards. Assist with implementation and administration of any employee survey related activities.
Works with managers to develop proactive training plans that prepare employees to meet current and future business objectives. Plans and conducts new employee orientation and follow-up to foster positive attitude toward company policies. Partners with Training and Development Dept to select appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer-based training. Conducts needs analysis studies and confers with managers, supervisors, and Training Dept to determine training needs and compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements
Works closely with HR / Workers Compensation Analyst to assist local managers with current issues with policies and procedures. Takes lead role in ensuring that employees are returned to work as soon as possible. Monitors any and all restricted duty assignments. Reviews each claim to determine if corrective action is required.
Ensures internal consistency and worth to administering the job evaluations and compensation programs; composes new and revised job profiles and recommends evaluations. Assist local managers with wage analysis and surveys to ensure that pay practices are in line with local labor markets. Act as a local resource to communicate, inform, and clarify issues pertaining to the benefits program.
Work with local managers to ensure each operation is operating in accordance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, e.g., Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, etc. Represent the company, when needed, at unemployment hearings.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources / Industrial Relations or related field; Masters preferred
At least 5 years of HR experience in a multi-site distribution center capacity
Heavy experience with labor relations or union avoidance, and/or labor negotiations; well versed in labor relations policies and laws; solid employee relations experience and project/process leadership
Knowledge of federal and state laws related to employment and labor
Strong service orientation
High energy level and stamina to meet the heavy demands for time and service
Strong business acumen
Awareness of basic principles of profit, loss, and cost management
Demonstrated ability to connect with employees from various levels in the organization
Ability to partner with hourly warehouse employees to director level managers
Effective communicator. Models active listen. Effective with group and platform presentations, especially to work team audiences. Writes effective e-mails and other correspondence
Ability to travel overnight 25-50% €“ sometimes nationwide travel

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
