Manager Patient Safety

Bachelors degree nursing, allied health or a health related field
Advanced degree in a health related field preferred OR equivalent experience
2 years in a role focused on patient safety or risk management
3 years clinical experience or experience in a heath care setting
Experience in use of analytical tools including root cause analysis and apparent cause analysis
Ability to influence and impact the culture of the organization
Effective communication skills sufficient to interact with all levels of associates and medical staff, front line through executives
Demonstrated results oriented and creative approach to organizational change
Effective presentation skills in small group settings, internal and external to the organization
Ability to succeed in responding to change and handling multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and analyze procedure and process changes
Information management skills, including data analysis, flowcharting, and report preparation
Current clinical license preferred but not required
Candidate must be willing to attend, onsite and offsite, department meetings and educational activities. Must be able to perform basic administrative director functions, participation in outside professional activities and maintain proficiency in department's software computer program.
Candidate must participate in an on call rotation schedule for the system safety team requiring 24/7 availability approximately 1 week every 2 3 months
Able to travel to corporate and community functions as appropriate.
Candidate must be able to perform various physical tasks with a high degree of proficiency, such as articulating, hearing, viewing, and walking throughout the hospital.

Ability to work under stressful and difficult conditions.
The Manager of Patient safety is a highly visible position within Advocate hospitals that was created as a result of executive management's desire to eliminate the unintended harm to patients and mitigate increasing liability exposure by reducing clinical risk. Patient safety is a top system priority both from a clinical outcomes and financial perspective, and the need to meet increasing national expectations.
This position will lead the implementation of a robust patient safety program at each hospital site. In addition, this position will provide analysis and evaluation of highly confidential data to identify clinical risk reduction opportunities. This position will work closely with the site's executive leadership team, site directors, managers as well as the front line. The Manager of Patient Safety will collaborate with other key divisions within the organization, including Risk Management, Supply Chain, IT and Clinical Engineering to name a few. The Manager of Patient Safety will also provide education on relevant patient safety topics.

Patient Safety Event Investigation
Identifies and Oversees Implementation of Corrective Actions to Reduce Risk in the Organization
Patient Safety Data and Report Management

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
