Advocate Condell Medical Center has been providing high quality care to residents in the north suburbs for more than 85 years. Hours:  Day Shift


Status:  Part Time (40 hours bi weekly)


Qualifications:


Minimum of 3 years of Non Invasive Cardiology experience in Echocardiography or Associate's Degree from an Accredited Sonography program.
Demonstrated skills for advanced learning in echocardiology
This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging prior experience with various groups is preferred
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Ability to work well with others
Good communication skills
Good organizational skills
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Achieve Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Certification
(RDCS Adult) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within 1 year of employment
Ability to be flexible work weekends, holidays,
and on call for staffing needs based upon department on call guidelines
Ability to communicate with patients.
Ability to perform lifting and transferring related to
patient care (in the category of medium lifting
up to 20 50 lbs occasionally.)
Ability to move ultrasound equipment for
studies to various departments.
Exposure to ill patients, may be exposed to blood and urine samples.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with established time constraints.
Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
To provide to the interpreting physician, through the diagnostic imaging techniques of ultrasound, a complete and accurate documentation of cardiac anatomy and cardiac performance for all age groups ranging from neonatal, pediatric, adults and cases of organ donation.
To assist the physician in determining cardiac structure and myocardial performance via transesophageal echo studies (TEE), stress echocardiograms and dobutamine stress echocardiograms.
Accountabilities:
Provides clerical functions necessary for physician's interpretation, department, records, and patient billing
Provides competent and proficient technical skills in the performance of STAT and routine cardiac ultrasounds implementing procedural standards and protocols for the following modalities
Provides patient care specific to procedural requirements within department policies
Maintains professional growth, self development, objectives, skill enhancement and commitment to the organization
Interacts with medical staff, nurses and other hospital departments regarding patient care and department procedures
Maintains a safe and efficient work environment
Echo Lab On Call Guidelines
All Echo Technologists are accountable for fulfilling the on call responsibilities of the Echo Lab as defined below:
1.All Echo Technologists will assume weekend back up call as scheduled to respond to possible increased patient volumes on Saturday and Sunday. Back up call is paid 0700 1530.
2.During the hours of Monday Friday 1630 0700 and Saturday Sunday 1530 0700, Echo Technologists will be on call for emergent Adult cases and Pediatric cases.
3.Holidays are covered on call 24 hours for adult and pediatric emergent cases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
